The Michigan Solidarity Coalition is a group of individuals and organizations that represent the geographic and cultural diversity that defines our great state. Together, we are a unifying force within and outside the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP), working to give the Party back to the people by rebuilding it on the core democratic foundations of fairness, transparency, inclusion, equity, and 1-person 1-vote democracy at every level of the Party.
Our diverse coalition is made up of diehard democrats, grassroots progressives, precinct delegates, young democrats, labor union members, leftist organizers and activists, immigrants, retirees, and many others from across Michigan. We believe the Democratic Party must listen to its members, honor their voices, and actively work to include everyone equally in decision-making processes.
By working together, we aim to restore the core values of the Michigan Democratic Party and create a stronger organization that works for all the people it serves, not just the ones with money or already in positions of power. The Michigan Solidarity Coalition is more than a group—it’s a movement to ensure the Michigan Democratic Party truly represents Michigan’s diverse communities.
To achieve that goal, the Michigan Solidarity Coalition is actively organizing a slate of candidates for the Michigan Democratic Party State Convention this coming February 22nd, 2025.
Let’s build a party for the people, by the people.
Join us in this mission for solidarity and progress.
